Word limits

If the paper says NO MORE THAN TWO WORDS AND/OR A NUMBER, a number does not count as a word. “42 Maple Crescent” is one number and two words. “the third of April” is over the limit even if it is what you heard — write 3 April. Over-length answers are marked wrong here, as in the official test.

TRUE / FALSE / NOT GIVEN

TRUE = the passage states it (usually paraphrased). FALSE = the passage says the opposite. NOT GIVEN = you cannot prove it true or false from the text. Do not use outside knowledge.

YES / NO / NOT GIVEN

Same three-way split, but for the writer’s claims, not for facts.

Listening audio

Officially you hear each recording once. This practice player lets you replay a part. Use that to study, not to inflate a score you would not get on the day.

Spellcheck

Browser spellcheck is off on answer boxes, as on the computer-delivered test. Spelling is part of the mark.

Scores

Listening and Reading use published-style raw-to-band tables. Writing and Speaking are heuristic estimates from what you type — they cannot score pronunciation or handwriting. Official results will differ.
